Meet Annie

Nature-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in compassion.

Hi, I’m Annie Koch (she/her), a graduate-level Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern and rostered psychotherapist based in Vermont. My work is rooted in the belief that healing happens through connection - to ourselves, to others, and to the natural world. I bring a warm, trauma-informed, and person-centered approach, integrating mindfulness, somatic awareness, and nature-based practices to support each person’s unique healing process.

My Approach

I view therapy as a collaborative space where safety, trust, and curiosity guide the process. My style is gentle, grounded, and experiential, inviting the wisdom of both body and environment into the work. Whether we’re exploring your story indoors or outdoors, my goal is to help you cultivate awareness, resilience, and self-compassion at a pace that feels right for you.

I often integrate:

  • Mindfulness and somatic (body-based) awareness

  • Trauma-informed and nervous system–focused care

  • Nature connection and outdoor therapy

  • Creative and experiential methods

  • DBT-informed skills

Who I Work With

I work with teens and young adults navigating trauma, stress, anxiety, self-doubt, and life transitions. Many of my clients I support feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns shaped by past experiences and seek therapy as a way to reconnect with themselves, restore balance, or learn to approach challenges with more calm and confidence.

I commonly support clients who are experiencing:

  • Trauma and chronic stress

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Emotional dysregulation

  • Life transitions

  • Relationship and attachment challenges

  • Identity and self-worth concerns

I am currently completing my clinical internship at Nature-Centered Psychotherapy under the supervision of Christian Dymond, LMFT. Previously, I served as a Graduate Counseling Intern at Bellcate School in Essex, where I provided individual and small group behavioral support for teens and collaborated with educators and clinicians to implement trauma-informed classroom interventions.

Outside the Office

Outside of counseling, I find grounding in Vermont’s landscapes through hiking with my dog, Maple, snowboarding, playing hockey, or capturing moments in nature with my camera.

I find deep grounding in nature’s rhythms, and I bring that same sense of patience, curiosity, and respect for process into my work with clients.
